Peter and Elaine's Christmas Greetings 2010

Canalling: 113 days afloat including day trips to Brassknocker Basin and under Bristol Suspension Bridge. Copperkins brought to Sheffield via River Trent: celebrated in the local newspaper with nice picture and an all-facts-wrong story. Fulbourne needed an engine rebuild and her bottom blacked (which Elaine enjoyed), so fewer trips, including Historic Boats at Braunston.  Odyssey's boat-managing supremo died with three million pounds of debt. What a way to go!  Much angst.

Peter: Re-elected as national Trustee of the Inland Waterways Association, Even more meetings in-between painting the house outside and expanding  post-office rubber-band-ball from 5lb10oz to 7lbs. Another excellent Scott-family weekend on the Isle of Wight, this time with a boat trip. What an odd place to put our new lamppost.

Elaine: Still lots of committees including Chairman of West Riding Branch of IWA and now Ranmoor tower-captain. Another all-facts-wrong local newspaper story to celebrate. Managed some bobbin lace: embroidery tatting spinning weaving sewing crochet too. Awaiting all this retirement free-time. Still pouring at IWA National festival.

Ringing: Still going. Learners starting OK but going to senior school, finding other things to do. Highlight was ringing on the anti-clockwise eight at Stone whilst Odyssey frozen in ice nearby. Or even the 109 PlainBob Doubles (Grandsire start) ppbpppbppp(p)

Iain: Bought a house in Warrington. Canals with us occasionally. Wrapped his new bicycle around a lamppost; of the three of them only the bike was injured. One of these years he’ll send his own Christmas greetings...
