Here are a few scanned colourslides from the 1995 annual dinner. It was Hugh N Evans's second year as Guild President: but Hugh and family were incapacitated by a flu bug and unable to attend the dinner: this brought to an end a sequence of thirty-five consecutive dinners attended by Hugh; that's all of them including the first informal one at the Chinese restaurant. Hugh had, in later years arranged his annual diary around this trip from Bishop's Cleve, including when work would be allowed to fly him to the USA.

Peter Scott presided in Hugh place, having probably been drawn out of a hat of oldies-who-would-be-there by a soundingly harassed Guild Secretary earlier in the week. It was an enthusiastic 'yes' if only for the chance to read the Ladies' Peal between other speakers "Through the ripples of their Triples, On its consummation bent ..."

Fortieth Anniversary dinner: so a good reason for the occasional appearence of the gothic-script "Guild of Change Ringers" banner, completed at 3am for the Guild's Bunfight in 1971, and which now normally spends its days in a tube in a cupboard in Sheffield.
